I just tried listening to binaural beats and now it feels like my brain is bleeding and I'm crazy hungry. Welp.

Back in the day
That feeling you get when you find an old essay for school about your dream holiday and you realise you went on that trip a couple of months ago, and it was way beyond expectations.

Hello people of the internet
My absence has been torture to you, hasn't it?
So, it's spring outside. All sunny and warm - which, if I may say, is quite nice after a few months of constant hypothermia. Spring also means that summer break is coming up and it's basically 6 weeks left of school until they let us go. And it's roughly three months until I exchange Sweden for the U.S. which honestly scares me a bit. I've written packing lists constantly, thinking about how to say goodbye to people, which people to say goodbye to. I panic in the way that I've all of a sudden come up with lots of things that I want to do before I leave. A year is a hell of a long time, and who knows what might change during the course of it.
Anyway, on another note - the day before yesterday me and Dollythe went cycling to three different shops. One in which we bought four packs of strawberries, one in which we bought crackers, and one in which we bought icecream to celebrate spring. It was fantastically exhausting and fun.
I sound so troublesome. I'll stop now.
Still, it's the best feeling ever and I couldn't be more excited.

"Everyone’s life is fucked up kids. Some people just don’t have a name for what majorly fucks them up."
If any of you were wondering, Titanic in 3D was amazing. I can honestly say it is one of the best films I have ever seen in the cinema, in 3D none the less.
Easter break has soon run its course, but there is still so much that I want to do. You know, before school sucks me in to that hell hole again which mainly consists of homework and non-intellectual classmates. Problem is though, I do not know what it is exactly that I want to do. My days mostly consists of my envy of glorious people on tumblr and having small tv-show marathons, watching shows I don't really like. Gabriella and I have traded shows, you see. She is watching the first season of Doctor Who, while I am watching the first season of One Tree Hill. Not a big fan of it so far, if I may say, but I think I will come around. It may be good, who knows?
May the force be with you.

Currently sitting in McDonald's with Gabriella and Malin waiting for Titanic 3D to start. Hopefully it'll be awesome!

I'm pretty screwed anyway
A few minutes ago I saw the most peculiar thing. Outside on the street, there was nine Jehovah's Witnesses all just standing there with Bibles in their hands discussing. Nine. One of them knocked on my door, but I didn't answer it since, well, why would I? But later when I went downstairs I found a pamphlet outside my door about Jesus and a meeting of theirs that's coming up.
I just found this whole thing quite strange, due to the fact that during the past two weeks, including today, Jehova's Witnesses have knocked on my door three times. The past couple of years I can't remember once they've knocked on our door. I can't help but wondering what the hell is going on in our little community. Some kind of apocalypse?
This is the pamphlet I found. It basically says "How do you view Jesus? As a newborn child, a dying man or a ruling king?" |

Hard day's work
I just got home from school about an hour ago and now that I've got this glorious little thing called a smartphone I'm actually able to take somewhat decent pictures.
So, for no reason in particular, here's a pic of bestie (her blog) in school today. A highly unnecessary school day, if I may say so myself. We spent most of the day taking pics like these, and trust me, you really don't want to see them all.

Look how happy she is when she knows we're having History next.

Going all technical
I've got a new phone. One of those smart ones. It's quite difficult though, since my previous one was a brick. This is so hard to type out.

We Need to Talk About Kevin
Last night I watched one of the best films I've seen so far in my life. We Need to Talk About Kevin. Now, I know I contradict myself in the way to not read the book first, but I just couldn't wait.
Anyway, the film is about a mom (played by Tilda Swinton) who recalls her life due to the fact that her teenage son committed a massacre at his high school. It basically revolved around how she never bonded with her son, Kevin, and how she struggled ever since his birth with him.
It's jaw-dropping. Mind-blowing. Marvellous, fantastic and brilliant but at the same time tremendously disturbing and psychotic. Ezra Miller, who plays Kevin, is amazing in this role. I bet he was born for films like this. Since he is an exact replica of Richard Ramirez, I wouldn't mind having Ezra playing him in an upcoming film. His bone structure is just.. Ah.
I've lost the ability to even.

"Fifteen bucks, little man"
Yesterday and today can be summed up in a few films:
- Clerks II
- Mallrats
- Dogma
- Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
I've watched all of these while I'm supposed to be studying for a Swedish test tomorrow, but eh. It can wait, I suppose. I feel like just quitting school for good. It's basically my life right now. Studying. Or procrastinating, actually. But the stress is still there. I know peeps hate reading about other complaining about school, but I can truthfully say there's nothing else going on in my life at the moment. At all.
So, like, what are your hopes and dreams?

People who don't use their heads don't need them
It's Sunday and while Dollythe is in Estonia for the weekend I'm sitting here trying to put together a somewhat interesting application for scholarships. A financial aid for my exchange year is quite essential, after all. But how on earth do you get people to give you money without sounding that you're too sorry for yourself? Ugh. I kind of really want the money.
I need a hobby. Suggestions are appreciated.

The Fault in Our Stars
Augustus Waters & Hazel Grace.
"Okay."
I finished reading The Fault in Our Stars today, for the second time. Words aren't enough to describe my affection for this book, or any of his other books - and himself of course. John Green. The novelist. I literally beg for my friends to read any of his work, so they can experience that peculiar feeling you get while reading them. The same feeling you get when you reach the very last page and you don't want it to end.
Speaking of books, I created an account on goodreads a few minutes ago. It's basically a site for all the booklovers out there, where you add books to three different lists: the ones you've read, the ones you're reading and the ones you want to read. Book recommendations pop up, and you can rate books aswell. So far, I love it. It's perfect. Hence, I've come to realise I've got a big problem. How on earth will I be able to read the books I want to read, while still being in school and being broke? Library is a temporary solution, yes, but I want books to be mine. I want to see them on my shelf. My babies.

When you cut down to the bone
I was in an 80s mood today, so I decided to watch The Breakfast Club again. That film is brilliant in every single aspect. There's something special about 80s films, especially ones directed by John Hughes. I love them. I flippin' love them. The Breakfast Club will be my all time favourite though, even though I adore any film that has the Brat Pack in it.

Tumblrs, click on them
I posted something like this on my old blog, and it is time for an update.
- maltedpotatoes
The tumblr of one of the most hilarious people I've ever spoke to on tumblr. She's irish and a fellow Sherlockian. - cumberbat
Pretty hard to guess, huh? Basically, the best tumblr of anything Sherlock or Benedict Cumberbatch related. - amandabellman
The brilliant swede who draws the comic The Horrid Adventures of Jeff & Ted. - johnlocktexting
A tumblr with texts (mostly drunk texts) from various Sherlock characters. It's fantastic in every way. - newqueenbee
Joseph Birdsong's very own tumblr - he's also known as the lonely, gay and skinny guy on youtube. - steal-the-tardis
One of the best Whovian blogs out there.

Genius
Basically, John Cleese is one of the most brilliant human beings to walk the earth. Therefore, all of you should watch this and afterwards you will realize why.
A rant about films
The sad thing about living an hour from civilization is that it's almost impossible to do things in general. The past couple of months I've been dying to see numerous films in the cinema, which is quite rare. But no, to see a film in the cinema is apparently too much to ask for. Most of the time school gets in the way, even during the weekends. Ugh. It's awful.
They aren't showing Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy in the cinemas here anymore. And I never got a chance to see it. I guess I'll have to wait until I can watch it in some other way, but it would be something great to see Benedict Cumberbatch and Gary Oldman in the same film in the cinema. Imagine, seeing them on the big screen!
I'm not in too much despair though. War Horse will hopefully come to the cinermas over here soon - which has both Benedict Cumberbatch and horses in it. Oh, well.

"Ignorance is bliss, I guess."
Family get-together yesterday. I hid in my room most of the time. Not that I don't love them, but sometimes they're too much.
I'm thinking of ordering a few books or films. I really, really want the extra material found on the imported Sherlock season 2 DVD, and I crave for new films to fill up my shelf. Some books I'd like to order are the other books by John Green - like Will Grayson, Will Grayson and An Abundance of Katherines, but also the three Lord of the Rings books. Possibly The Hobbit aswell. Doesn't it sound like a swell idea? If only I were made of money.

Hampton, Arkansas
As some of you may know, I'm going to the U.S in the fall to study in an American high school for a year. Probably as a senior. Anyway, yesterday I got my host family! They seem wonderful, and they live in Hampton, Arkansas - a small town that seems great. My high school is called Hampton High and their mascot is a bulldog, which is quite interesting! Since the school is pretty small aswell most of the students will probably know that I'm from Sweden. If that's a perk or not I'm not sure of.
I'm so happy at the moment! Gah, I've got a host family!

We've cleaned up and now it's time to learn
My lips are insanely chapped and my teeth are hurting. Lovely.
So, about this procrastination thing. I'm good at it. Brilliant, actually. So are most of my friends in our tiny class. We've got an essay due to Friday, an essay which was assigned to us two weeks before Christmas Break. We've had about one and a half month or so to finish it. Yeah. How far do you think I've gotten? Yep. I haven't written a single thing. Not even a headline. I only decided what to write about today! I'll have to work my butt off tomorrow. Or we'll ask our teacher if it's alright if we do it on Monday instead.
I'm such a good student.

A New Hope
New blog, fresh start.
A bunch of old posts on my previous blog annoyed me, so I decided to start up a new one. Splendid, huh?
